About
Hi! I’m Erin Scott. Believe it or not, back in 2004, I was actually a reluctant dog owner! I didn’t grow up with dogs and it was totally my husband’s idea to adopt our first dog, Lucy.
It didn’t take long for Lucy to make me fall in love with dogs. I didn’t just become a “dog person," I was determined to be the best Dog Mom that I could be.
You can hear more about my story in Episode 1 of the Believe in Dog Podcast.
Through the years, my dogs have become healers, teachers and inspirations in my life.
And I’ve met so many people and had so many experiences that I wouldn’t have otherwise had, if not for the dogs.
My journey as a Dog Mom has taught me so much about dogs, people and even myself. And I want to pay it forward.
On the Believe in Dog Podcast, we talk about all the different ways that dogs can impact our life. Topics can range from dog behavior problems to ending laboratory testing on Beagles. The Believe in Dog Podcast is also a safe space to talk about the hard times too, such as illness and grief.
Did you know I have a 2nd podcast?
In 2022, I started The Alternative Dog Moms Podcast with fellow Dog Health Nerd, Kimberly Gauthier. Kimberly & I share all the ways we’re keeping our dogs healthy through practices such as a fresh food diet, acupuncture and chiropractic care. We also talk to fascinating guests doing cutting-edge work to keep our dogs as healthy as possible.
One of my passions is my volunteer work with the nonprofit organization B-More Dog in Baltimore, Maryland. Our B-More Dog Wellness Clinics provide free veterinary care to pet owners in Baltimore’s under-resourced communities. We’ve served thousands of dogs over the past 12 years.
Learn more about 10 years of the B-More Dog Wellness Clinics on Episodes 34, part 1 and part 2.
I live near Baltimore, Maryland with my husband, Tim, and rescued pit bulls Neno & Nessie. We miss Lucy, Kahlua & Penny every day.
